Bloglines Named Best Blog/Feed Search Engine

The 5th Annual Search Engine Watch Award winners have just been announced, and Bloglines was named the Best Blog Feed Search Engine. This is the first year for that category. We re honored and we d like to thank everyone that voted for us.

Zoundry Updated

We just heard from Lawrence Lee of Zoundry that their Blog Writer app has been updated to support SSL and Blogger s AtomAPI. It s a Windows app for doing WYSIWYG blogging from the desktop.

Package Tracking

We are pleased to announce our newest feature, package tracking. Now, you can have Bloglines track the status of your UPS, FedEx, and USPS packages. From your My Feeds page, click the Add link in the left pane. Then, click the Package Tracking link in the right pane. From there you can enter tracking numbers for UPS, FedEx, and USPS packages. Also, you can do a search on a specific tracking number. Entering a tracking number will create a subscription in your account that is updated whenever the status of your package changes.

Added support for increasing and decreasing the number of headlines in a module. There is no global setting, but the number of headlines are remembered for each module across sessions. If the feed is listed in My Feeds, the number of headlines will be remembered each time you open a new module. Fixed a bug that was causing images not to be displayed in search results Fixed an encoding issue in search results Added collapse expand buttons to the bottom of the module when 1 or more headlines are opened. Fixed a bug that was causing the sidebar entries not to be sorted correctly in Firefox. Fixed a bug that was causing double clicks to be handled incorrectly in Firefox

Next week, we ll be shifting our attention to our next prototype, so we won t be making many changes to 1 or 2 for the next few weeks. Taking your feedback into account, we ll be trying to meld v1 and v2. We ll post an announcement when it s ready to see, and we ll look forward to hearing what you think!

PocketBlogger Updated

Steve Novoselac just wrote in to let us know that PocketBlogger s been updated to support Blogger s Atom API and secure authentication via SSL.PocketBlogger is a PocketPC Blogger client.
